Sugar weakens on selling pressure

  • Sugar prices fell at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today due to low retail demand amid selling pressure from the mills.

    Small sugar quality (S-30) declined by 11 per quintal to Rs 2,800/2,851 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 2,811 /2,851.

    Medium sugar (M-30) also dipped by Rs 15 per quintal to Rs 2,831/2,901 as against Rs 2,846/2,916 previously.

    The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets:

    Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,800/2,851 (Rs 2,811/ 2,851) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,831/2,901 (Rs 2,846/2,916).
