Sugar weakens on selling pressure
Sugar prices fell at the Vashi wholesale sugar market here today due to low retail demand amid selling pressure from the mills.
Small sugar quality (S-30) declined by 11 per quintal to Rs 2,800/2,851 from yesterday's closing level of Rs 2,811 /2,851.
Medium sugar (M-30) also dipped by Rs 15 per quintal to Rs 2,831/2,901 as against Rs 2,846/2,916 previously.
The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,800/2,851 (Rs 2,811/ 2,851) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,831/2,901 (Rs 2,846/2,916).
